The Paddock

You run the team. AMS2 runs the races. The career remembers everything.

The Paddock is a deep motorsport career-management game built on real Automobilista 2 content. Sign sponsors, develop your car, hire drivers and staff, build a multi-championship calendar — then go race your weekends in AMS2. The career layer reads your real results live and turns them into points, prize money, standings, contracts, and stories. Win on track, build an empire off it. Run out of money, watch it collapse.

This is not a mod and not a skin pack — it's a full management sim that wraps around the sim you already own.

The hook: AMS2 now models your car, not just your driver

Using the custom-AI car-physics parameters added in AMS2 V1.6.9.8, The Paddock writes each car's real performance straight into the sim:

  • Power, weight, and drag scalars are written per car from your R&D, wear, and damage. A developed, fresh car is genuinely fast; a worn, battered one loses pace, gains weight, and retires more often.
  • You finally feel your own car. Your R&D, wear, and damage physically change how your car drives on track — not just the AI's.
  • The AI grid carries real fast-car / slow-car performance tiers, while dynamic difficulty stays tied to driver skill — so car and driver never double-count.

Build an empire

  • Own the team end to end — buy out the board in tranches, track a live team valuation, fend off takeover offers, and chase one of three career endings (collapse, sell-up, or retire a legend).
  • Pre-season economy — sponsor retainers, board grants, a client track-day business, and paid invitationals to fund your assault on Round 1.
  • A living sponsor market — thousands of brands across five deal tiers, with negotiation, due diligence, enforceable promises (podiums, attendance, PR days), and portfolio chemistry.
  • R&D and HQ — ten development projects across Aero, Powertrain, Reliability, and Operations, plus upgradeable facilities with real upkeep and concrete effects.
  • Drivers & staff — scout hidden gems, sign pay drivers who bring cash but not pace, run a real second car that races under its own name on its own livery, and manage a full staff roster with morale and wages.

A paddock that lives without you

  • AI teams are real entities — each with a stature tier (grassroots → works), a valuation, budget, sponsors, founding lore, and AI-vs-AI rivalries that exist whether you're involved or not.
  • Over the seasons teams climb, fall, buy cars, enter new series, and fold — releasing their liveries back into the pool.
  • Every championship runs whether you enter it or not, with its own results, champions, retirements, and rising stars delivered to your inbox.

Race weekends, the real thing

  • Automatic session detection — Apex reads live AMS2 telemetry to follow your Practice / Qualifying / Race sessions, and exports career-tuned AI grids to your install before you load.
  • Real venues, real fields — 735+ scheduled rounds resolve to actual AMS2 track layouts, grids fill to each circuit's real capacity (Le Mans runs 46–48 cars), with weather, night running, and multi-race weekends modeled.
  • Heritage invitationals you can actually drive — classic prestige events gated on your manufacturer standing, with appearance fees, prize purses, works loaners, and two-way success/DNF consequences.
  • Car condition & scrutineering — per-system wear, maintenance economy, and series minimums that can hard-block a neglected car from the grid.

Story & presentation

  • 260+ data-driven story events, including cross-system dilemmas that pit your own systems against each other.
  • A full media system — interviews, PR actions, three social platforms, and rival principals who become genuine nemeses.
  • Results archive, post-weekend summary cards, a live Paddock Wire news ticker, a Hall of Fame, trophies, and a bound yearbook for every season.
  • Game audio (openly licensed CC0/CC-BY) and procedural portraits for every person in the world.

What you need

  • Windows (desktop)
  • Automobilista 2 — to race your weekends
  • AMS2 shared-memory telemetry enabled
  • AMS2 "Customized AI Names" enabled (Options → Gameplay) for AI export
  • AMS2 V1.6.9.8 or newer recommended for the full car-physics model (older builds fall back to driver-skill differentiation)

In a race event (image) but in game I have a grid max of 29 and have to pick custom set 12...What selections are supposed to be automated if any ?

Also, I could buy a lambo venevo hyper car under 10k (bad shape) nursed to 100% for 10k or so...Did this in the demo but full might be the same

Also, in the sponsors tab if you have many many offers (got 44 lol) not sure if I'm doing this right as I'm new to sim management. Pls have an 'accept all' button for all offers, and also stop scrolling the window up when we accept offers.

Also, open standings takes me to

Also, in the series, when you enter a series please make it visible that you have accepted/entered a series as currently I still have the 'enter' in yellow. We need feedback on all actions taken.

Please make the bottom row (main button text) font size larger by 100% as text is very small.

the full version also has 0.30, also what is the commentator exe ? and how exactly do I race a certain date ? Do I play the sim until that date or can I race regardless ? needs explaining.

The commentator exe is a little something I'm working on...

Here's a preview of that.

The date in AMS2 doesn't matter you can race any day as long as the cars and track are correct. If that's what you mean

Also thank you so much for the support!

(1 edit)

No, not the date in the game. In your mod. If I have a race in the future, do I have to be on that date in the calendar in the mod ? The commentetor  is really cool ! I stared a a career and the 'street' race event was way in the future in June/July.

(+1)

Yes you basically play the mod/game up until that date - here is my dicord link so you can post bugs easier - https://discord.gg/Fesp2XrwTb

Just got your mod ! Made in godot ! nice ! I'll test later and come back. The demo says 0.30 Is that right or is that a typo ?

That's just a typo!

I tried it. It seems like a really good career mode, but I couldn’t sync the app with the game. I have everything set up correctly, so I don’t know if it was an issue or not. Another thing I didn’t like was that when I was in the race menu, I accidentally pressed a button (I don’t know which one) and the race got simulated. Maybe a confirmation message before simulating the race would be good. And one last thing, will you translate the game into other languages?

Maybe a guide for setting up the app with the game could be good.

Hey! I'll try get a video out asap!
